About Unitek College
Unitek College is a private vocational school, which is dedicated towards its students in order to provide them with the necessary skills required to advance in their respective career fields or to begin a new career. Through its training, Unitek College helps its students to take advantage of the many professional fields, including allied health, technology, and nursing.
All the courses offered by Unitek College are taught in modern simulation laboratories (SIM Labs) and classrooms that replicate a real work setting and feature technologically-advanced mannequins, so that students can practice as well as improve their skills. Its high-fidelity mannequins imitate breathing, allow for CPR and IV practice, and much more.
The programs are taught by outstanding teachers, who give attention to each and every student and also provide employment assistance after the graduation of students. Unitek College is located in six different locations in Northern California, including Fremont, San Jose, Hayward, Concord, South San Francisco, and Sacramento. The institute provides comprehensive education to its students, which includes career training, employment assistance, externship placement, and professional development.
History
A private institute, Unitek College, was established in 1992. The people who founded this college had both academic and technical specialties. Due to this, they had a keen insight of providing high class education and technical expertise to its students. The parent company of Unitek College, namely Unitek Information Systems, also runs training institutes, Unitek Education and Unitek Training. However, the programs of these institutes are not affiliated with high-fidelity Unitek College.

Unitek College's campuses are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Unitek College is proud to announce that the baccalaureate degree in nursing program at Unitek College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.aacn.nche.edu/ccne-accreditation). Unitek College is honored that the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has recognized and accredited our RN to BSN program. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is an autonomous accrediting agency that is officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education that contributes to the improvement of the public's health. The CCNE accreditation is an important evaluation which validates Unitek College's quality of education to the alumni adding credibility and respect.

Programs Available
Unitek College provides a wide range of healthcare education options to its students, including nursing and allied health programs. It addition, it also offers an IT training course.
Vocational Nursing
The Vocational Nursing (VN) program of Unitek College can be availed in two options, which are Certificate or an Associate Degree. It helps students to take care of the injured, sick, convalescent, and disabled people under the direction of registered nurses and physicians. It also allows you to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
The VN Certificate program includes both clinical as well as theory components, so that students can pass the NCLEX-PN licensing examination and get employment as a generalist Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). On the other hand, the Associate Degree VN (ASVN) program includes the same Science and General Education courses, which are required in the college’s multiple entry RN Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) course. It is the first part of its 2 Stage Associate Degree Nursing - ADN course.
Registered Nurse Bridge - LVN to RN
This course allows licensed vocational nurses to develop their career and thus become registered nurses (RNs). Registered Nurses are the ones who have completed extra programs of study and passed the NCLEX-RN in order to become registered and licensed nurses in the state of California. This program teaches students how to prevent illness and promote good health, while treating and educating patients and the public about several medical conditions as well as how to provide emotional support and advice to the family members of patients.
Students also learn to record the medical symptoms and histories of patients, carry out diagnostic tests and examine results, administer treatment and medications, help with patient rehabilitation and follow-up, and operate medical machinery. They also learn how to teach patients and their families about managing their injuries and illnesses, give post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of physical and medication therapy, and create and advise diet, exercise, and nutrition programs.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing - RN to BSN
Bachelor of Science in Nursing – RN to BSN: The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is 100% online and is for RNs seeking the next level in their career. BSNs are the foundation for higher post-graduate study and allow for higher-level responsibilities, such as research, teaching and management positions.
Medical Assisting
Medical Assisting is an ideal course for those people who love to provide comfort and care to people who have medical needs. It is designed to teach students both clinical procedures and medical administrative. Medical Assistants (MA) are multi-competent medical experts, who perform various clinical and administrative tasks in order to keep the clinics, laboratories, and offices of physicians to run smoothly. In the Medical Assisting program, students get to learn front-office terminology and procedures, in addition to how to prepare their patients for examinations. The course is offered in two schedules that is in the morning and evening.
Dental Assisting
Dental Assisting is a new addition in the healthcare programs. It is ideal for individuals who love to work with their own hands. It prepares students and provides them with technical skills and in-depth knowledge required in the dental assisting profession. Dental Assistants help dental operators with different procedures of the patient, while focusing on patient comfort. The sole focus of a Dental Assistant is to provide direct patient care as well as patient comfort.
The course includes a supervised externship, hands-on skills lab, and in-class instructions. After completion, graduates earn a certificate and are prepared to work with digital dental technology, use current industry standard dental software, function as dental assistants to licensed dentists, and gain employment as entry level Dental Assistants in dental clinics, offices, or lab environment.
Information Technology
Information Technology (IT) professionals are required to troubleshoot the day to day hardware, software, business encounter, and security problems users. The Information Technology program includes hands-on labs, instructor presentations, and virtual environments in order to cover core IT topics like PC hardware, computer security, data networking, network storage systems, and Windows desktop & server functions. It offers education on various Information Technology areas, including troubleshooting hardware and software, setting up security systems to prevent network and system breaches, understanding how data is being stored, etc.
The course also teaches the fundamentals of computer technology to students as well as the skills to effectively maintain the security and functioning of network and desktop computer systems, along with the tools to appropriately check and analyze basic computer maintenance problems. Graduates can take multiple certifications in this course after successful completion in order to get entry-level positions in the Information Technology field.
