Are you looking for a great program to properly prepare you for an entry level job as a pharmacy technician? At UMA we will teach you the tools you'll need to be successful as a pharmacy technician. The entire program was built to prepare you for the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam) upon successful completion of the course. Once you pass that exam you'll have earned the title as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or CPhT.
Many find jobs working not only in retail pharmacies like Target or Walmart but also in mail-order pharmacies, major hospitals and even nursing homes.
When you are working as a pharmacy technician you'll be able to stock prescriptions, help customers find over the counter medications, count medications and prepare them for customers. If working at a hospital you might be responsible for delivering and making sure patients receive their medications.
The great thing about the Pharmacy Technician program from Ultimate Medical Academy is it can be completed in less than a year! In the program you'll learn about law and ethics, side effects of medications, dosages and the most commonly used names for drugs. When you get to the externship part of the program you'll assist pharmacy technicians and serve 180 hours practicing the duties you learned at UMA.
When you are done with the program you'll work with the Career Services department at UMA so they can find job opportunities that fit your skill set and career goals.
