Military Education Benefits
Several of The Art Institutes locations were recognized by GI Jobs Magazine as being in the top 20 percent of colleges and trade schools doing the most to embrace military members and veterans. In 2015, Military Advanced Educations Magazine named The Art Institutes as one of the top military-friendly colleges and universities.

The Art Institutes allows military personnel to use tuition assistance through the Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Defense. Each branch of the military and National Guard determines the eligibility and amount of assistance offered. Furthermore, Ai participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which provides assistance to veterans if the cost of tuition exceeds the annual cap. Spouses may be eligible for assistance through the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MYCAA) Program, and dependent children may be able to use a parent’s unused Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. The Fry Scholarship provides tuition assistance to children of service members who died in the line of duty post 9/11/2001.

The Art Institutes offers a 10% military tuition scholarship to Active Duty, Active and Drilling members of the Reserve and National Guard, and spouses and children. The application and enrollment fees are waived for active service members and veterans, and their spouses and dependents. Some military training courses can be transferred toward college level credit at The Art Institutes.

Programs Offered at The Art Institute

Advertising
At Ai you will learn to think creatively and strategically as your instructors prepare you for both the artistic and business side of the advertising industry. Courses include content such as copywriting, storyboarding, digital illustration, brand strategy, account planning, and marketing research.

Graphic & Web Design
Students explore the foundations of design, studying color and illustration before choosing a focus and developing skills in a specific area. Graphic Designers specialize in product packaging, brand image, and publication design. Courses include advertising concepts, package design, and layout design. Web Designers create more interactive pieces, working across media platforms to design websites and mobile applications. Courses in this concentration include information architecture, experience design, and web page scripting.

Industrial Design
Industrial design is the creation of a product. At The Art Institutes you will learn how to turn your idea into a prototype and present it as a marketable product. Courses include digital modeling and rendering, materials and processes, model building, anatomy and ergonomics, and sustainability. Graduates find careers in electronics and toy companies, furniture design, outdoors gear and sportswear, and other product manufacturing companies.

Interior Design
Interior Design students at The Art Institutes learn how to create indoor environments that are both aesthetically pleasing and safe and accessible. Hands-on experience is acquired using professional grade tools and technology in classes that cover everything from space planning, to textiles and lighting, to computer-aided drafting.

Animation
Throughout your time at The Art Institutes you will build a digital portfolio of the work you create using industry-standard hardware and software. Animation students start from scratch, learning the fundamentals such as drawing, color, and introductory computer applications, and then move onto more advanced courses that include cinematic storytelling, computer 3D modeling and animation, storyboard rendering animation, and visual indication.

Audio Production
Audio Production students at The Art Institutes dream of working behind the scenes in the music industry, and with the help of qualified instructors they make this dream a reality. Using professional digital computer-based audio recording and editing programs you’ll learn how to record and mix audio. Courses include science of sound, audio engineering, music and studio business, and MDI production, to name a few.

Digital Film
The Art Institutes provide students with an advanced, hands-on education in the competitive world of filmmaking. Professionals who have worked in the industry will train you in areas such as scriptwriting, cinematography, acting and directing, editing, and studio production.

Special Effects
Collaboration is key in the Special Effects program at The Art Institutes. Students work in teams to master skills in areas such as 3D design, advanced visual effects, motion graphics, and more. You will use industry standard software including the Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite and the Adobe Master Collection.

Game Design
In the Game Design program at The Art Institutes you will become familiar with the process of developing a game from concept to market. Game Art is a rapidly changing, high-tech industry, and Ai’s instructors are experts and professionals in their field. Skills and courses include the basics of 2D animation, 3D modeling and animation, character design, interior space and world design, and more.

Game Programming
Art and design is certainly a fundamental part of Ai’s Game Programming program, but as opposed to Game Design, this area of study lends itself more towards the technical and problem-solving side of the gaming industry. Students take courses and learn skills that include programming for the artist, gaming algorithms, interface design, and interactive game prototyping.

Photography
There are many components to the art of photography, and at Ai you have the opportunity to master them all with the help of industry professionals. You will explore areas such as portraiture, digital image management, location photography, studio techniques, and the business of photography.

Fashion Design
Students express their own individual styles while learning how to conquer real world obstacles in the fashion industry in order to take their styles from concept to consumer. As a fashion design student at The Art Institutes, you’ll gain knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as patternmaking, fashion drawing, sewing techniques, fashion show production, digital textile design, and business ownership.

Fashion Marketing
Fashion marketing is all about knowing and predicting current and upcoming style trends, and requires a certain kind of business savvy. Students at Ai become masters in their field as they learn about consumer behavior, brand marketing, visual merchandising, sales and event promotion, trends and concepts in apparel, and retail operations and technology.

Culinary Arts
At The Art Institutes, students learn that the culinary arts are comprised of more than just cooking. To master the culinary arts one must be aware of international cuisines, trends in the food and restaurant worlds, menu management, sanitation and safety, food and beverage operations, and nutrition. You’ll gain all these skills and more in Ai’s industry-standard kitchens.

Culinary Management
At The Art Institutes you will earn a well-rounded education, and gain all the knowledge you need to run a food service operation. This is an increasingly competitive industry in which you will develop both the culinary and management skills needed to succeed. Courses include culinary techniques, hospitality industry and industry trends, human resources, world cuisine, and wine and spirits management.
