Founded in 1988, the Cruise Career Training Institute (CCTI) specialized in grooming talent for the booming travel and cruise industry. Over the years, it has also offered career education programs in other fields, such as medicine and business. From CCTI, it was renamed to Keiser Career Institute, and then to Keiser Career College, until it was finally named the Southeastern College (SEC) in May 2012.

Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology
If you are eyeing a position in the future as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, then this undergraduate program is right up your alley. Those who earn this associate degree will have greater chances of working under licensed physicians or medical doctors when it comes to the use of diagnostic techniques in treating patients.
Duration of the Program


Associate in Massage Therapy
To become a full-fledged Massage Therapist knowledgeable in areas such as hydrotherapy, allied modalities and massage law, among others, getting an Associate in Massage Therapy degree is highly encouraged.


Those who are able to complete this undergraduate course are eligible to take the examination conducted by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and subsequently earn a license to practice massage therapy in Florida, issued by the Florida Board of Massage.

Associate of Science in Medical Assisting
If a diploma course in medical assisting is not enough for you, another option is its resident program, the Associate in Medical Assisting program, which is also offered at SEC. Become a multi-skilled Medical Assistant and secure gainful employment in all fields of medical practice.


Those who are able to complete this associate course are eligible to take the following examinations:
• RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) exam by the American Medical Technologists (AMT);
• CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) exam by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA);
• Limited Radiograph License Exam in Radiography;
• CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) exam by the NHCA;
• CET (Certified EKG Technician) exam by the NHCA;
• CEHRS (Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist) exam by the NHCA;
• CMAA (Certified Medical Administrative Assistant) exam by the NHCA;
• CPCT (Certified Patient Care Technician) exam by the NHCA; and
• CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) exam by the NHCA.

Associate in Pharmacy Technology

Becoming a Pharmacy Technologist has become more competitive in recent years, and the Associate in Pharmacy Technology program offered by SEC guarantees that graduates are at the top of the field, acquiring all the necessary technical and professional skills for the job.


Graduates of this program are eligible to take the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) exam, which is regularly conducted by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.

Associate of Science in Surgical Technology degree holders have greater chances of finding employment in operating rooms of various hospitals, medical centers and other health care facilities as Surgical Technologists. By completing this resident program at SEC, graduates may be candidates to take the Certified Surgical Technologist or CST exam conducted by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.


Associate of Science in Registered Nurse Bridge Program
Your best road to becoming a registered nurse is the Registered Nurse Bridge Associate program of SEC. In this undergraduate degree program, aspiring nurses are trained on professional care, covering areas that even include conducting holistic assessments and teaching valuable health information to various recipients. Graduates of this program are likely to become candidates to that the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, or NCLEX-RN.

 

Diploma in Electronic Medical Billing and Coding Specialist
The Electronic Medical Billing and Coding Specialist diploma program is ideal for individuals aiming to be health care professionals employed in electronic medical billing, coding and health information management. Graduates of this program are skilled in medical office procedures, keyboarding, coding procedures, and health care records management, making them attractive prospects in both the public and private sectors, where they can find employment in hospitals, medical centers, and private clinics.


Those who are able to complete this diploma course are eligible to take the following examinations:
• CBCS (Certified Billing and Coding Specialist) exam by the National Health Career Association (NHCA);
• CPC-A (Certified Professional Coders-Apprentice) exam by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC); and
• CCA (Certified Coding Associate) exam by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Diploma in Medical Records and Health Information Technician

Diploma in Professional Clinical Massage Therapy

Diploma in Medical Assisting
The Medical Assisting diploma program trains students to become highly-skilled assistants to physicians in their practice of medicine, as well as in medical office administration.

Those who are able to complete this diploma course are eligible to apply for certification as a Skin Care Specialist in the state of Florida.

Diploma in Pharmacy Technology
The Pharmacy Technology diploma program aims to produce highly skilled pharmacy technicians, who will be integral in the operations of hospitals, nursing and other health care facilities, pharmaceuticals and various health maintenance companies and organization.


Those who are able to complete this diploma course are eligible to take the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) exam given by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.

Diploma in Practical Nurse
The Practical Nurse diploma program aims to augment the need for nurses in various health care settings. Practical nurses have become increasingly in demand, especially when it comes to home health, outpatient and long-term health care settings.


Those who are able to complete this diploma course are eligible for consideration to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) by the Florida Board of Nursing. Many graduates of this diploma program also proceed to take the resident program, Associate in Registered Nurse Bridge Program, also offered at SEC.
