Ridley-Lowell’s Cosmetology program prepares students to pass the New York State cosmetology licensing exam. The curriculum covers nail care, hair styling, chemical reconstruction, skin care, and other important information and skills.
You will gain hands-on training from qualified professionals that will prepare you for the New York State Board examination in esthetics. The curriculum includes Anatomy and Physiology, Bacteriology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Skin Care, and more. Upon graduation you will be an expert in treating and healing skin.
A medical office needs qualified administrative medical professionals in order to run smoothly and efficiently. In this program you will learn and practice skills such as patient records management, medical office procedures, and medical insurance and coding.
After learning the foundations at Ridley Lowell, students participate in a required externship that allows them to use their newly learned skills in an actual physician’s office. This combination of field training and technical information study prepares graduates to take the RMA and CMA exams.
Medical Billing and Coding professionals act as a liaison between insurance companies and medical offices. At Ridley-Lowell you’ll learn the industry terminology and procedures required to begin a successful career in the medical field.
As a student in the Networking and Technical Support Specialist program at Ridley-Lowell you’ll be trained in hardware and maintenance, computer operations systems, advanced networking and security, software applications, and help desk responsibilities. Equipped with this knowledge and skill set, you’ll be prepared for any of the specific certification examinations in the IT field, such as CompTIA certification and Inet or Webmaster Fundamentals.
This program is focused in computer maintenance procedures, operating systems, HTML, and even customer service skills in order to set you up for a successful career as a computer support specialist, and network administrator, or a PC or networking technician.
Ridley-Lowell provides students with career-focused training to prepare them for entry-level electrical employment. You will become familiar with measuring instruments, safety procedures, national electric code, commercial and industrial wiring, and will even learn how to read schematics and blueprints. Students also participate in an internship to gain hands-on experience in the field. Successful graduates enter the workforce as skilled and marketable employees.
The HVAC Installation Technician program at Ridley-Lowell prepares students for entry-level careers in heating and air conditioning. Graduates are fully equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to pass the EPA Certification Exam. Qualified instructors teach course on thermodynamics, refrigeration systems, electricity and controls, hydronic heating systems, as well as all weather systems. Upon completion of this program you may find employment as an HVAC Specialist, Mechanic, or Air Conditioner Technician, or join a team in residential or mechanical construction companies, natural gas or propane distribution companies.
As an accounting student you will build a solid understanding of accounting processes and business transactions. Courses in Business Law, Economics, Accounting Theory, and Taxes & Auditing will open doors in the workforce to jobs such as Payroll Specialist, Accounts Receivable Clerk, and General Bookkeeper.
This certificate program provides students with the basics in business administration. You will learn critical computer skills, using software like Microsoft Word and Excel, and will gain a well-rounded understanding of business communications, business law, clerical tasks, and basic math concepts that may be used on the job.
The Office Assistant II certificate program is designed for graduates of the Office Assistant I program, or those who demonstrate competency and a solid background in the field of business administration. More advanced clerical and computer skills are explored such as information processing, transcription, proofreading and editing, and students become familiarized with software like Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher. Both day and evening classes are offered in order to accommodate your busy schedule.
Completion of the Massage Program at Ridley-Lowell will be a beneficial first step towards your goal of pursuing licensure as a massage therapist. In order to be prepared for the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, students explore topics such as anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, Eastern and Western modalities, and gain important insight for careers in spa services, sports, and medical massage.
Through hands-on experience in a lab setting as well as discussion and study in the classroom and online, students gain the proper training and education to draw quality blood samples while establishing an atmosphere of trust with the patient. Upon completion of this program, you will be prepared to pass examination by the National Center for Competency Testing and begin your career in a hospital, medical office, or laboratory.
Combining administrative skills with expertise in the legal field, Ridley-Lowell’s Legal Administrative Assistant program sets student up for success in law firms, government agencies, and more. The curriculum includes transcription, office procedures, legal terminology, business law, and preparation of legal documents, as well as database management, financial operations, and litigation support methods.
