Curriculum is adjusted and redirected in accordance with the skill sets needed to excel in each specific career niche for which PTC offers training and certification. PTC offers training programs in Building Technology to Business Administration; Criminal Justice, Information Technology to Graphic Design, Medical Assisting, Nursing and Massage Therapy. Each PTC sponsored Associate Degree and Certificate program has been created with the guidance and input of current industry professionals. The advisory boards at PTC stay aware of the changing employment atmosphere and job objectives associated with each field. Curriculum is adjusted and updated in relation to trends and technological advancements.
PTC provides a hands-on learning approach by providing an active academic climate with plenty of opportunities for give and take. Students will have access to real world workplace training experiences in addition to classroom lectures and workforce simulation training. Each student will work as a team member in an industry-specific training environment. Students will have the ability to put their skills to the test as they learn to interact well with others, communicate effectively, look after customer needs and work to analyze and solve problems. PTC graduates have greater opportunities to succeed in the careers they have received training for as PTC’s career service department is networked with many potential employers. Pittsburg Technical College stands ready to meet the needs of students both online and on campus. Through PTC’s online extension, students are delivered the same curriculum as campus-based programs. This is added on to through the blended online element to provide students with an innovative new experience. PTC’s online portal provides at atmosphere in which students can hone their skills and develop a well-rounded understanding of the curriculum to hand on their own time.
PTC's Pittsburgh area location and its online education division, PTC Online, meet the needs of students by delivering education in three different ways: as campus-based programs, as blended on-ground and online programs, and as completely online programs. Pittsburg Technical College’s physical location is based in North Fayette Campus, right nearby Pittsburgh International Airport and in close proximity to downtown Pittsburgh.
Admissions
Pittsburg Technical College works to ensure the admissions process is as straightforward as possible. With more students joining PTC each year, PTC offers four academic enrollment periods per year. For students looking to get on the fast track to a new career, this allows them to pursue new and interesting academic opportunities even sooner. There are no application fees for registration at Pittsburg Technical College. Many students, when applying for college, must deal with a variety of associated expenses right out of the starting gate simply to apply. At PTC, admission faculty believes in the importance of visiting the campus and scheduling a meeting with an admissions officer. Money previously used to go through extensive application processes may instead be used to meet with a counselor, take a campus tour and get a feel for the layout of PTC classes, curriculum and online extension. PTC does not charge any kind of fee. This is a very important consideration for many prospective students. Many colleges subject students fees for graduation include simple computer lab fees, fees for changes in classes or majors and a few student activity fees. At PTC, faculty and administrators understand the importance of saving as much money as possible. For this reason, the college strives to provide affordable career tracks and degree programs.
PTC does not require SAT or ACT scores for students to qualify for admission. Students are assessed based on their talents, determination, drive and aptitude to succeed in the career training programs for which they hope to gain admission. PTC admissions representatives will schedule an in person meeting with each prospective student in which their individual career goals and talents are uncovered. The only prerequisite for admissions beyond meeting these criteria is proof of a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited secondary school.
To schedule a campus visit, students may even check out Pittsburg Technical College’s website to look at a virtual tour. Students can otherwise schedule a wlak around campus and experience PTC for themselves as they witness PTC’s tech labs, classrooms and campus attractions. If students are too far from PTC’s physical location, they may work one on one with a member of PTC’s national admissions team and speak with them on the phone. -School of Trades Technology: This degree program offers training programs in
Welding and HVAC that allow students a firsthand look at the type of on the job expectations they will have once completing this career program.
HVAC Technology- The School of Trades Technology at PTC
will provide a certificate in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
Welding Technology: this program offers two subprograms covering industry-specific curriculum for students to train as skilled industrial and commercial welders.
-School of Business: PTC provides an Associate in Business Degree. Within this degree, students are offered courses in Accounting Concentration featuring in-depth studies of the fundamentals of business and accounting practices. Sub-programs include:

-School of Criminal Justice: students will be able to pursue certification related to many realms of safety and security careers ranging from police and detective work to emergency services, public safety and security management.
-School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts: Students will gain insight in a variety of hospitality and career fields from PTC’s School of Hospitality or School of Culinary Arts. Programs range Travel and Tourism to Hotel and Restaurant Management.

-School of Design: PTC offers flexible learning programs in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Graphic Design and Multimedia Technologies. Training in each field opens many doors and can help provide students with unique competitive advantages as they join the workforce.
-School of Healthcare: PTC offers superior instruction for industry training so that more students can take on professional roles in 1. Medical Assisting 2. Medical Coding 3. Medical Office Administration 4. Surgical Technology 5. Therapeutic Massage Practitioner duties.
-School of Nursing: The opportunities provided by PTC’s training programs in practical nursing and associate in science (nursing) will offer more students excellent long-term benefits as they fulfill medical roles. The Financial Aid Center at PTC is ready to help with a variety of resources, instructions and forms to assist students in paying for their college education. Students are encouraged to take the first step by calling Pittsburg Technical College’s office of Financial Aid at: 412-809-5100 with any questions they may have. From there, students may look at PTC’s website for a list of valuable resources for the application process. Students will begin by:
