The New England Institute of Technology is considered among the top career education institutions in the area of Southeastern New England. New England Tech has been deemed a non-profit, private technical training school that offers more than 50 programs in a variety of desirable associate, bachelors and Masters degree tracks that are highly applicable to many realms of the workforce. Each program has been constructed carefully with input from industry experts, professors and faculty so that students will be able to develop a strong framework for their existing or future careers. The New England Institute of technology also provides many opportunities for English as a second language students and transfer students from all around the world to obtain or further their education with this technical Institute. The New England Association of Schools and Colleges Inc. fully has provided full accreditation to the New England Institute of Technology.

 

 

Admissions

The admissions criteria for acceptance into one of the New England Institute of Technology’s bachelor’s degree or an associate degree programs include the following:

 

-Proof of high school diploma or equivalent certificate from a recognized secondary institution.
-Verified completion of secondary education from an accredited home school environment. This home school must qualify as a viable alternative that exempts graduates from mandatory public/private high school attendance as dictated by State law.

 

Application Procedures include:
-A scheduled interview with one of the New England Institute of Technology’s college admissions officers.
-Submission of enrollment application along with the New England Institute of Technology’s standard application fee. Application documents can be located from NEIT’s physical campus or online: https://www.neit.edu/Admissions/Apply-Online
(Students have the option to complete and submit a physical application or complete the registration process online).


-Applicants will show a certificate authorized and signed by an attending physician. This certificate will confirm that the prospective student has been immunized against measles, rubella, varicella, mumps, rubella. Additionally, certificate must show that the prospective student has received a booster dose of diphtheria and tetanus (Td). Boosters must have been received within the last ten years. Lastly, certificate must show proof of 3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccine or positive titer.

 

Additional Requirements:

-Students wishing to enter an associate or bachelor degree program through NEIT must pass assessments for skills and competency in reading, writing and mathematics. This test will determine whether or not they are ready to begin standard curriculum at the college level. While students who do not pass this assessment may be deemed not currently eligible for NEIT’s associate/bachelor’s programs, they may be eligible for enrollment for NEIT sponsored courses created to assist in meeting assessment objectives and improve math, reading, and/or writing skills. Assessments must be passed before entrance in technical courses. This requirement may be waived only if students are exempt under written consent of the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL).

 

Individual programs may have additional requirements; consult with an Admission’s Officer.

Acceptance policies:
Students are notified by the New England Institute of technology's office of admissions once a decision has been reached. The institution will reserve the right to deny admissions for a variety of reasons. However, reasons will not include race, religious beliefs, national origin, color, age, disability or sexual orientation. Students with an existing Associates degree will be referred to admissions for bachelors degrees so that candidates with associate in science degrees or associates from an otherwise accredited institution can move forward. For admissions into one of the New England Institute of technology's bachelors degree programs, prospective students with existing Associates in science degrees from accredited institutions may have the possibility to transfer credits and use them towards higher education.

 

Associate Degree in Applied Technical Studies:

The Associate Degree in Applied Technical Studies is created to help students who have previously worked in occupations specific to curriculum on their skills and develop an extensive base of knowledge. Curriculum is delivered flexibly allowing each student to meet tailored objectives for their professional and career prospects and goals. Admissions are often limited for adult learners. Adult learners with previous work and military experience may be preferred for certain degree programs such as the associate degree in applied technical studies. Admissions for the subsequent bachelor's degree programs from which credits in this associate degree program could be applied must show proof of an associate in science degree from a recognized or accredited institution that is otherwise the intelligible for junior level standing curriculum and programs

 

Programs

The New Jersey Institute of Technology offers a wide array of degree programs in associate, bachelors, master’s degrees and online degree programs and certificates. NEIT even offers English as a second language programs to help students fully integrate into an English-speaking campus life and subsequent career world. Bilingual studies provide students a well-rounded career outlook and an excellent jumping point to begin their working lives or further their careers. NEIT also offers the potential for transfer credits from previous coursework. Requesting transfer credits from institutions located away from the United States is a possibility for students coming to the New England Institute of technology from other areas around the world. Acceptance of transfer credits is made on an individual basis with consideration to specific requirements and conditions. The New Jersey Institute of technology allows for up to 50 transfer credits to be accepted depending on student criteria and objectives.

The financially department of the New England Institute of technology provides all of the guidance and information necessary to make financial aid choices with full access to financial aid resources, programs and federal, state and private funding sources. Financial aid staff can assist with FAFSA applications and deadlines as well as providing students with the correct options needed to fund their education to a mix of public and private resources. New England Institute of technology financial aid staff are ready to assist students with application forms and deadlines for:

Financial aid officers at the New England Institute of technology are knowledgeable and courteous as they help students and families stay informed and up-to-date with each aspect of the financial aid process. Federal, state and public grants recognized and assisted with by the financially Department of NEIT include:

 

-William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program: this program allows students to borrow directly from the government on a federal level as long as they have a single contact at the direct loan-servicing Center to explain repayment processes.

-Federal Direct Stafford Loan Program: this program, available to undergraduates, graduates and professional degree seeking students, must meet the criteria of full-time enrollment or at least half-time enrollment for students eligible for this particular loan.


Two types of Stafford Loans are subsidized and unsubsidized. For a subsidized loan, students will need to prove financial adequacy and fit into the economic brackets for which the student qualify. For an unsubsidized loan, the criteria does not include financial need or necessity.


-Federal Direct Parent Plus Program: this program will allow parents to borrow in order to help pay for student enrollment for dependents two are enrolled at least half-time in an eligible program within an eligible school. Parents are mainly borrowing for cost of attendance and not for additional financial assistance.

 

-Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loan for Grad Students: this noncredit based loan allow graduate students to borrow financial aid to the tune of graduate school cost needs and necessities.
