Public Classes
Novice chefs and home cooks can also benefit from the programs at L’Ecole Culinaire, as the school offers public cooking classes that are available to anyone. With classes such as Italian Cuisine, Nutritional Cooking and Chocolate Basics, home cooks of varying appetites and interest levels will enjoy mingling with classmates while learning how to concoct delectable dishes at home. Classes range from $45-$75 and are available at convenient times. Most last between 3 and 4 hours depending on the subject matter. Whether you want to learn to make pasta from scratch or want to gain more knowledge about wine and how to pair it with different dishes, you can find a public class for you. These classes will enable you to make quality meals at home, so try them before date night or use your new found skills to save money on eating out.

To test what you’ve learned in a real world environment, each campus of L’Ecole Culinaire operates its own restaurants. Students who are farther along in the program can apply their skills in a controlled setting, while diners are treated to a first class dining experience with top notch cuisine. Each restaurant has lunch services and dinner services, and they are located in exciting locations so you can make a day of it. At the restaurants, students are supervised by instructors, so you will be sure that your food will come prepared properly and will be delicious. For students, the restaurant experience offers a way in which they can put their new skills to the test in an environment that is not as high pressure and intense as a real world kitchen. Once the program is complete, students will be prepared for an entry level job in restaurant management with all of the skills they need to impress their new employers by working efficiently.

Some L’Ecole Culinaire locations also offer catering services, which is ideal for events in which you want to save money without sacrificing the quality of the cuisine. Like the restaurant, students working with the catering team are given supervision by instructors, so everything will be prepared correctly. This gives students the opportunity to learn how to manage a restaurant off site such as in a wedding or corporate event situation. Students will learn first-hand how to take a restaurant on the road while remaining consistent with the brand and the dining experience that customers expect when they are at the restaurant. They will also learn how to handle potential setbacks that can occur while catering such as running out of inventory or a certain dish.
