Enrolment and Financial Aid
Enrolment at the Island Drafting and Technical Institute is a straight-forward process to facilitate admission of new students. The institute holds an Open House a few weeks before the application deadlines to enable prospective students to come and check out the campus and facilities so they can make the decision to join. The requirements of admission at IDTI include a High School GED or its equivalent as well as a personal interview at the Admissions Office.
When it comes to financial aid, IDTI is quite upfront about helping students apply for the aid they need to complete their tuition costs. With so many different arenas of financial aid available, all it takes is for individuals to sit down and have a one-on-one discussion with IDTI’s Financial Aid Representative, who can take you through your choices and help you in filling out some financial aid applications.
IDTI also offers its own institutional scholarships for students who meet the eligibility criteria and accepts grants, private loans and work-study programs. In fact, depending on your level of need, your Financial Aid Representative may suggest a solution that arises from the amalgamation of a loan, a grant and a part-time job. All students who apply for admission at IDTI are encouraged to visit the Financial Aid office immediately after admission and fill in their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Some of the main financial aid options available to students include Federal Direct Loans, the Federal Pell Grants, the Federal Perkins Loans, the Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loans and more.
