About City College
City College is one of Florida’s well-known institutes, which provides education in the fields of health care and business administration. It offers various educational programs at different levels of Diploma, Associate’s, and Bachelor’s. The institute has five campuses and one online division in Florida.
City College was founded in 1984 by the name of Draughon’s College of Business, a branch of Draughon’s Junior College of Business, established in 1896 at Paducah, Kentucky. In 1987, CareerCom College of Business was taken over and Career City College was formed. The first campus of this institute was set up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which later on went on to become the college headquarters. Since then, City College has grown up to five more campuses, including one online division.

City College is recognized by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), www.acics.org, in order to award Diplomas, Associate and Bachelor degrees to its students. Additionally, the university is approved by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE).
How to Apply to City College
If you want to take admission in City College, you can get in touch with their Admissions Department and fix an appointment. You can even fill up their Request Information form on their website. Subsequently, the admissions representative will contact you and assist you in completing the essential paperwork. Further on, the applicant would be personally interviewed by an Admissions Department member for the course he or she wants to take up.
City College provides financial assistance to only those students who qualify its eligibility conditions. To check if you are eligible for the financial aid, you need to contact their Financial Aid Representative. Associate of Science Degrees
The Associate of Science degree in allied Health is divided into three main categories – medical assisting, medical office administration, and mental health technology.
This course develops clinical, clerical, and laboratory skills in students, so that they can work at different positions in various health care facilities.
Medical Office Administration (with a track in Insurance Billing and Coding)
This program provides knowledge and specialized skills to students, so that they can build their career in the field of medical billing and coding.
Mental Health Technology
In this course, students learn about written and verbal medical technical procedures. It deals with diverse issues, including rehabilitative services and developmental community-based services.
This program covers topics like anatomy and physiology, introduction to anesthesia technology, medical law and ethics, anesthesia technical fundamentals, anesthetic procedures and surgery, anesthesia pharmacology and dosage, etc.
This course covers broadcast journalism, voice and diction, broadcast advertising and sales, radio station operations, audio/video production, news presentation, on-air programming, news writing, broadcast live, media and station management, and interviewing techniques.
Associate of Science degree in Business Administration is offered in two specializations, accounting and management.
This program includes various accounting principles, like accounts payable and receivable, tax preparation and auditing, etc.
This course encompasses a variety of topics, such as principles of management and marketing, accounting, human resource management, etc.
This program deals with the evaluation of cardiac and vascular diseases, along with topics like anatomy and physiology, ultrasound physics, echocardiography, medical law and ethics, peripheral arterial study, etc.
In this course, students learn about different facets of crime, including correctional systems, family violence, police strategies, criminology, crime scene analysis, computer crime investigation, juvenile delinquency, and criminal victimization.
Emergency Medical Services
This program teaches students about anatomy and physiology, administering IVs, injury treatments, bleeding control, patient status assessment, etc. Additionally, the course teaches how to stay calm in critical situations and develop a professional attitude.
This course encompasses general and criminal law, family law, torts, legal writing and research, court proceedings and litigation, real estate law, sports and entertainment law, wills, trusts, and estates. It teaches research techniques, document preparation, effective communications skills, legal computer software, etc.
This program teaches involves different topics such as medical administration and proper dosages, along with starting, maintaining and discontinuing intravenous (IV) lines for medication, fluid, blood and blood products. It also enables students to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam.
Private Investigation Services
In this course, students learn about various techniques of a detective, with the use of investigation principles, interviews and statements, criminal investigation, insurance investigation, surveillance, and fraud investigation.
This course includes fundamentals of surgical technology, anatomy and physiology (structures and organs), surgical procedures and techniques, etc.
This program teaches handling of domestic animals, animal anatomy and physiology, animal behavior and training, veterinary pharmacology, laboratory skills, veterinary dentistry, and veterinary emergency and critical care.
The Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration teaches students how to be an efficient manager, marketing and advertising principles, accounting, business math, computer applications and spreadsheets, business ethics and laws, and global business strategies. This degree can be completed with a major in Accounting, Management, or Project Management.
