Overview

Back in August of 1968, Chattanooga College Medical, Dental, & Technical Careers only offered students one program, Data Processing, and Computer Programming. Since then they have expanded giving their students Associates of Applied Science degrees in Medical Office Administration, Dental Assisting, Criminal Justice, Medical Assisting, and Computer Networking Technology.

 

Chattanooga College Medical, Dental, & Technical Careers also offers their students Diploma programs in Shampooing, Natural Hair Styling, Where Dreams Find Direction 2 Manicuring, Instructor, Aesthetics, Cosmetology, and Practical Nursing. All of the programs that are offered there are designed to help students be prepared to enter the workforce after graduation.

 

In the fall of 2013, Chattanooga College Medical, Dental, & Technical Careers moved for their location on Brainerd Road to their main campus on Northgate Mall Drive; both sites offer students education, and there is free parking at both locations. Cosmetology

For only $6000, you can get your cosmetology degree as Chattanooga College. When you enroll in the degree program you will learn everything you need to know to get an entry-level job in the field, including:

 

- Hair care, coloring, styling, and chemical texturizing
- Manicuring, nail art, enhancements, pedicuring
- Skin care, hair removal, facials
- Professional Grade Equipment Kit

 

Computer Networking

The Computer Networking degree program is a two-year program that has small class sizes of 3-5 people and has hands on and professional professors to teach students. And you can get certified with up to six certifications that will help you land a great job. And you will have access to thousands of different online courses that have to deal with Microsoft.

 

The certifications that you can get at Chattanooga College from IT organizations are Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA Academies, and industry certifications. You are also provided with a laptop that will make learning the material easier, and you will be given all of the software needed to learn.

 

Aesthetics

If you want to have beautiful skin and help others get great looking skin, then you should consider the Aesthetics program. Here you will spend 750 hours learning about how to beautify your skin and will learn great tricks like extractions, micro scrubs, body wraps, skin peels, massaging, microdermabrasion, and galvanic current. This degree program can get you work in places like Dermatology offices, Salons, and Spas.

 

Shampoo Technician

Do you want to get your foot in the door and start working in a salon as soon as possible, then you should consider becoming a Shampoo Technician? In as little as two months, you can complete the 300-hour course that will make you a stylist assistant. You will learn shampooing, deep conditioning, scalp treatments, and rising chemical applications. This means you can start working faster and then you can take the cosmetology program, and you will receive 100 hours towards it. And this class is only $1400, and payment plans are available.

 

Practical Nursing

In 12 months, you could be a licensed practical nurse that can practice anywhere in the United States. In the Practical Nursing Program at Chattanooga College, you will be taking classes and doing clinical hours in acute care hospitals and nursing facilities. When you go to this program you can expect:

Admission Requirements for Program

- $25.00 application fee
- High School Transcripts or GED
- Completion of ACT exam with a score of 19 or higher and taken within two years or good score on Compass Admission test
- Written essay
- 18 or older
- Three letter of recommendations
- Criminal background checks and drug test
- Interview with the Director of the program
- Proof of immunizations and physical

 

Natural Hair Stylist

In this 300-hour course, you will learn how to crimp, braid, twist, and extend the length of hair and you will become licensed to work in a salon doing things like blow drying, brush styles, shampooing, and extension applications.

 

Nail Technician

Do you want to be a nail technician or nail artist, then this program can help. You will learn how to do acrylic and gel nails as well as manicuring and pedicuring in as little as 600 hours of training. And then you can take the exam to get a Board of Cosmetology license that will allow you to work in a salon or spa.

 

Medical Office Administration

The Medical Office Administration program at Chattanooga College will teach you how to be a great medical administration assistant by show your how to understand medical coding, medical billing, electronic health records, office management, and health information systems. You will also learn all of the pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology as well as medical law and ethics and HIPAA regulations. And you will be taught all of the administrative programs need to complete these tasks in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant program at Chattanooga College allows you to get your associate’s degree and then you can transfer your credits to get you Bachelor’s degree. You will learn hands-on lab skills, and we have a 1:6 ratio for each class, so you will get one on one training. This program has a 240-hour externship in a clinic or medical office that will help you with experience.

 

Instructor

If you want to teach others, the Instructor program is for you. You will be taught lesson planning, motivation, and teaching in 300 hours of instruction.

 

Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant program will give you hands-on training that you can use in a dental office. You will earn a certification for radiology and learn from the best instructors.

 

Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice Program will teach you in the classroom and hand-on training in things like hostage drills with local and correctional offices. You will also go on field trips, hear lectures from police officers, forensic experts, K9 officers, and other professional in the field. And after you graduate, you will gain experience in the field through externships. The program is perfect for the person that wants to become a police officer, sheriff, or work in law enforcement.

 

Financing
