California Coast University offers opportunities to students whose busy work or personal schedules or geographic location might impede their goal of furthering their education that would otherwise take place in a typical traditional on-site program. This university is staffed by highly qualified faculty and student service members and is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), as well as the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). All programs are tailored to meet students’ individual and educational needs. Students also have the option of utilizing the textbook rental library. Furthermore, in the undergraduate program, credits are available for previous training or work experience.

However, students have access to articles, databases, and videos that would contain helpful information on both their field of study and specific strategies that apply to obtaining and maintaining gainful employment in their chosen field. These resources can be found under the Student Success section, the News section, and in the Library Resources through the university’s website. Moreover, students should create a Coast Connection account which provides access to the student portal.
Enrollment Process and Financial Aid
Students who wish to apply for admission must be 18 years or older. The following documents must be submitted when applying:
• Completed application with $75 non-refundable application fee (Or apply online at www.calcoast.edu.)
• Copy of high school diploma or GED
• Official transcripts of previously completed coursework or credits.
• (If applicable) Proof of credits earned through exams, such as the CLEP.
• (If applicable) Official transcripts of coursework or credits earned through any type foreign study program (Subject to approval by the foreign credential evaluation service)
• Detailed resume outlining any previous work experience
Upon acceptance, students will need to take an assessment in which results will help determine degree plan and methods of study. Also, an enrollment agreement and degree plan are emailed to the student for review. This includes a detailed list of tuition fees for all degree requirements.
The student will then, return the signed enrollment agreement along with the required fees. Afterward, the student will receive a link to the online orientation and ultimately, the first part of the coursework.
Additionally, California Coast University takes pride in its affordable tuition rates and flexible payment plans. Students have the opportunity to reach their goal of earning a degree without the obstacle of the high cost. Ten percent discounts are available for all active service military personnel and veterans, and for CCU graduates. Students are also encouraged to inquire about possible eligibility for employer reimbursement. There are also three options for payment plans in place for the student to choose from:
• Plan A: $500 is paid by the date of acceptance with monthly payments of $100 after that. The first payment is due one month from the official enrollment date.
• Plan B: $300 is paid by the date of acceptance with monthly payments of $125 after that, with the first payment due one month from the official enrollment date.
• Plan C: Student makes full payment on the date of acceptance.
For undergraduates, tuition costs $150 per credit unit. For graduate students, each credit unit costs $230. All payment plans are interest-free, and a fee is assessed on unpaid balances in the event of late payment.
School of Arts and Sciences
The faculty and staff of the School of Arts and Sciences provide a well-rounded education that promotes lifelong learning. Students receive individualized study plans that promote critical and analytical thinking. Each student will walk away with academic skills that transfer to just about any area of study. Degrees range from an Associate’s to a Bachelor’s of Science in General Studies.
School of Administration and Management
The faculty and staff take great care in providing an independent and individualized program that incorporates real-world scenarios with sound academic content. Their goal is to help each student attain the skills needed in both the business and healthcare areas of marketing, management and administration. Degree plans include undergraduate and graduate certificates and associates, bachelor's, and master programs.
School of Behavioral Science
With the guidance of a professional and knowledgeable faculty and staff, students have the option to pursue an undergraduate Certificate in the Fundamentals of Psychology or a graduate certificate in Psychology Studies. Also, they can obtain degrees ranging from Associates to Masters of Psychology at their own pace.
Students will gain knowledge through the foundational courses, such as Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Abnormal Psychology. They can then move on to more focused areas of study and research, like Counseling or Educational Psychology.
School of Criminal Justice
Faculty and staff will instruct students on vital skills and knowledge needed for the protection and security of their communities. A student can obtain an undergraduate Certificate in the Fundamentals of Criminal Justice and even continue to earn degrees from the Associates to the Masters level. Courses cover subjects such as terrorism, forensics, juvenile justice, and procedures in the justice system, and more. At the graduate level, students can study criminal counseling, deviant behavior, leadership, police administration and management and more.
School of Education
This exciting program is geared toward professionals who are looking to move into the areas of administration and leadership, or curriculum and instruction. Students can earn certificates in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction or achieve the goal of obtaining a doctorate in Organizational Leadership. A qualified and experienced faculty are prepared to mentor future educational leaders who will take their valuable knowledge back to their respective school districts.
