About Beauty Schools of America
Beauty Schools of America or BSA is one of the popular institutes that offer a number of beauty, salon, and spa programs. History of School
Beauty School of America was founded in 1989 by the Coral Springs Schools, Inc. The first campus of the school was established in Margate, Florida. Since then, BSA has catered to almost 21128 graduates and 153200 clients. The institute has a total of 5 campuses throughout South Florida and one associate institute, Palm Beach Academy of Health & Beauty. The institute is recognized as one of the leading cosmetology schools in Florida. It provides various courses for those who want to pursue a career in the field of beauty or cosmetology.

School Accreditation
Beauty Schools of America have a license of the Florida Department of Education (DOE)/Commission for Independent Education (CIE). It is credited by the Council of Occupational Education (COE). Additionally, BSA is recognized as one of the five schools of the country that matches the standards of the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC). ITEC gives certifications in more than 40 countries.

BSA is also approved by Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) for several state programs, including Florida Bright Future Scholarship, Florida Student Assistance Grant, and Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans (CSDDV).

 

Admission Process
If you want to enroll in the Beauty Schools of America, you should first fill up their admission form. After this, you must talk to their Admission Representative, who will take your interview and evaluate your qualifications and aptitude, in order to make sure if you are really capable of pursing one of their offered programs. Before filling up the admission form, the applicant should ensure that he or she should be more than 16 years of age and must possess one of the following pre-requisites:
• Must be a high school graduate
• Should have a recognized high school diploma or any of its equivalent degrees, like the General Education Development (GED)
• Must have an academic transcript of any student, who has completed at least a two year course, which is equivalent to full credit for a bachelor’s degree

 

Beauty Schools of America offers various courses to students who want to make a profession in the beauty, spa, salon, or cosmetology industry. With theoretical and practical knowledge, students learn about haircuts, styles, chemical, makeup, massage techniques, facial methods, hair removal skills, nail technology, etc.

 

Cosmetology Training Program


This program teaches students the modern beautifying techniques of hair, makeup, skin, and nails. Applicants learn and improve their skills by practicing the techniques on their classmates, volunteer models, and mannequins. The course includes wedding styles, runway fashion, up-dos, special hair effects, and all aspects of hair care and styling. After completing this program, students can acquire a professional license in order to work in barbershops, spas, and salons.

 

Barber Training

 

This course enables students to become a licensed barber, through the preparation of the State of Florida Barber’s Board Examination. It provides training for hair styling, hair cutting with shears, modern fades, hair chemicals (relaxers and perms), shaving techniques, etc.

 

Spa Therapy Program

 

This beauty program teaches students several massage techniques, including therapeutic applications, anatomy, physiology, diagnosis, and modalities. They learn about numerous make up techniques, with spa business management and client counseling. Moreover, students are taught about skin care methods, so that they can diagnose and treat skin conditions. After completing this course, applicants can sit for the Florida Board of Massage Therapy Examination and become a licensed massage therapist.

 

Full Specialist with Salon Management

 

This course combines two disciplines of beauty and health education, where students get to learn about latest skin care techniques, nail technology, and make up.

 

Comprehensive Facial and Makeup

 

This program teaches students skin care and make up secrets, so that they can go on to become professional skin care specialists and makeup artists. A real life spa setup helps students to gain both classroom and hands-on training. Students even get to create their own portfolio, which eventually gives BSA students an edge over others and help them find a job.

 

Massage Therapy Training Program

 

In this course, students learn about the fundamental tools, knowledge, ethics, and behaviors of massage therapy, so that they can effectively relieve stress and pain of customers. After completing this program, students get a good position in salons, spas, medical practices, cruise ships and resorts.

 

Electrolysis and Laser Technician

 

This course involves basic methods of hair removal, makeup artistry, and facials. Hair removal includes both permanent and temporary techniques, using specialized equipment to remove hair from the body and face. Through this program, students can get into clinics, health spas, day spas, spa resorts, and salons.

 

Electrolysis Program

 

Electrolysis is one of the main methods used for permanent hair removal. It removes all types of hair and is significant for acquiring a Laser Hair Removal license. In this, students learn about how to remove hair from the body and face, using specialized techniques.

 

Makeup Artist and Skin Care

 

In this course, students learn about complete skin treatments and facials, along with conventional and artistic make up fundamentals. After completing this program, students can become makeup artists, skin care consultants, or retail sales specialists.

 

Makeup Artist Specialist

 

In this course, students learn about makeup artistry, in order to work in spas, salons, and big make up companies.

 

Nail Technician Training

 

This program deals with all the aspects of nail care, including theoretical knowledge, practical application, nail infection control, and customer service. It includes basic nail designing and manicures, so that students can land up in hotel spas, nail salons, cruise ships, and other nail service providers.

 

Medical Esthetician Program

 

This course includes the complete skin care training program. Theoretical knowledge includes medical terminology, product ingredient knowledge, clinical dermatology, pre and post-operative treatments, dermal oncology, and career development skills. Practical training encompasses micro-dermabrasion, vitamin therapies, advanced chemical exfoliation and skin care peels, ayurvedic facial treatments, aromatherapy, body wrapping, and herbology. However, to enroll in this program, students must possess a Skin Care License.
