Medical Sonography Training Program

American Institute

As a medical sonographer you’ll prepare patients for procedures, prepare imaging equipment, insure quality of images and analyze images for physicians. When you graduate from American Institute you’ll have different employment paths you can take. The industry has different types of sonographers such as abdominal, breast, musculoskeletal, neurosonographers and obstetric so your options are open to what area you would like to focus on. Let the trained staff at American Institute training you and give you the direction you need into this exciting industry.

The program at American Institute will properly prepare you to sit for the Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) exam administered through the ARDMS. During your final term at school you’ll set for the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation.

The diagnostic medical sonography cardiac program is a full-time, 18 month program at American Institute, with a focus on the use of ultrasound for diagnosing pathological and pathophysiological conditions of the heart. The program is divided into two components; introductory ultrasound courses designed to build a solid foundation in scanning techniques and normal anatomy recognition followed by advanced courses that focus on pathological conditions and patient focused case studies. The program consists of sequenced and integrated theory, lab, and clinical instructional tracks. The program is also delivered using a blended format; a combination of hands-on face-to-face training in lab and clinic combined with live, online, instructor-led theory courses delivered using an array of distance technologies.
