Can AI Change Our Education?

Many of us don’t really notice it, but artificial intelligence is quickly becoming an important aspect of modern life. Whether or not we are exposed directly to this change or not, one cannot deny the fact that it is only a matter of time when AI will become our day-to-day life. AI has crept its way into our technology, gadgets, homes, offices, and is about to find its way into different industries defining of our lives, from medicine, car industry, to the Internet and even human relations after all. However, there is one aspect of our lives that we don’t really know how AI is going to affect or change it; our school education. The educational system globally is always trying to stay in touch with technological advances, and use it for the betterment and improvement of the educational process, but AI seems to be something more challenging. Let’s see how and whether AI can really change the way we learn.

AI Education Programs

One of the ways artificial intelligence could change our educational system and education as a whole is through AI educational programs. These educational programs could represent special classroom systems where the educational process, like studying or researching, would be instructed, led and performed by digital resources or different types of media. One such educational program has already been introduced in some schools, and it is called Blended learning. The main idea behind Blended learning is to enable teachers and professors to use AI-powered software and help students learn faster and more efficiently. Blended learning is also being used by a number of teachers who use gamification, and similar AI-powered tools and practices to help students improve their studying performance.

AI educational programs seem quite easy to adapt to the current educational system, and won’t probably cause any major disadvantages. The only possible downside to the AI educational programs could be their cost. That means that only certain schools and educational institutions could actually be able to afford it. However, there is hope that with time, AI will become a regular notion in our lives, so it could become accessible to the schools of the world.

Personalized Learning Experience

Another way AI could affect and change our education might be an actual breakthrough in the educational system. Because in the majority of the schools the curriculum and studying programs are created for students as a whole, there is an issue with students who require a more personalized approach. This is where artificial intelligence and AI-software and tools could step up and act as supplements in a more personalized and individual learning approach. Naturally, teachers and professors can’t really focus on individual teaching in the classroom, but with AI, their inability to approach every student individually during the class could be completely erased.

When it comes to the personalized learning experience, many experts have AI and VR combination in mind. Tools, like Google Glasses, personal statement essay assistants like, different learning apps and content technologies can actually help children with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other conditions learn faster in a more practical manner. These tools are excellent for helping students stay focused, engaged and genuinely interested in the studying material, and are also great for teachers. This interactive AI and VR technology could be a revolutionizing thing in regards to personalized learning and enabling students with difficulties to receive an individual experience when it comes to learning and being taught.

AI Visual Learning and Experience Gaining

Many experts believe that AI and VR technology are excellent when it comes to skills training and practicing. Because this technology is based on interactive tools and practices, it seems perfectly adaptable to the education of students, in regards to them being able to apply their knowledge. To be more precise, AI and VR technology could be used to provide students with skills training and practicing in real life by using AI and VR. This way, students will be able to practice and train without fearing failure, consequences of mistakes and all the other things that might hinder their learning.

According to Google's Daydream Lab experience, students who use AI and VR to practice and train learn much faster in the controlled real-life setting than they do in real reality. For example, they are more likely to succeed in applying the knowledge in an actual real-life setting, than the students who simply learn in the classroom, without any practice. Knowledge is only useful when it can be applied, and AI/VR technology seems to be able to change that in our education. It is all about taking the theory into practice, acquiring practical skills and perfecting them, which artificial intelligence, together with virtual reality can make come true. Not to mention that this approach to practical learning is exceptional for students with physical or psychological conditions as well.

As probably many people doubt it, there is a pretty good chance that AI can not only change the way we learn and educate ourselves but also improve it to the point where everybody will be able to get exceptional educational experience. Personalized, individual, adaptive and blended learning all seem to be completely missing in the current educational system, but the teachers of tomorrow believe that technological development can help change that. It is only a matter of time when AI will stop being this intangible technology of the future, but rather something accessible to every teacher and student in the world of today.
